May 39, June 1,2,3

We were busy the last few days.  Probably walked 15 to 20 miles around the city, which means we are getting to know our way around.  It is not a very large city, but it is not laid out in blocks.  Rather it has meandering streets that go into these old neighborhoods that are in their own way beautiful and sad.  So much of the city needs total renovation.  Many bldgs in the main part of the city are being renovated and they are restoring the facade of the bldg. And modernizing the inside.  Some of it is quite beautiful,  combining the old with the new.
We made a RV on the bldg we used to live in.  We had met the neighbors on the street and they were speaking english, so we stopped to visit with them and left a couple of tracts.  The wife, Thomasia, invited us in and asked us to sit down, and offered us a drink.  We read Jer. 29:11 and the first par. In Good News broch.  Our first bible study!  We exchanged phone numbers, but she said she wanted her husband to be there.  Not sure how he will respond.
We went to see Justin (picture included) and pd. the rent we owed qnd confessed our errors in his home...one broken bowl, we forgot to replace a bottle of wine we drank, and Claudia's mishap with the wine.  He was amazed that she had painted the wall and he never even noticed.  He forgave our other errors also.
Last evening a sister from our cong., Susan, invited to dinner.  We couldn't find the rt bus so got off where we thought was close...NOT!
We must have missed it by 2 miles so needless to say we were late.
What an interesting sister....she was raised Mennonite and had an angry, mean father so she rebelled early and left the church.  She married several times and was in abusive relationships for years.  She is so thankful to have the truth and she raised 2 children to serve Jehovah.  She is from Fort Bragg Ca.  Lives here because the medical is so good...she has bad lungs and can get meds much less.  It was a lovely evening.
Another beautiful day in Portugal
